Day One
5:00 PM Arrive at the Cascades Lodge
to a warm welcome from our hosts, a glass of wine and local cheese
platter.
Our
travelers have a little time to stretch their legs, freshen up, and
enjoy a little conversation in the pub, before dinner.
After dinner, with no particular entertainment planned for the first night, we are free to relax in the comfy lounge, on a cool night, a roaring fire, a glass of brandy, and a game of pool will keep the conversation going late. Cards, board games and a giant screen TV are available in the lounge.
Day Two
6:30-8:15 AM Early morning coffee,
and a piping hot buffet
breakfast awakens the travelers to a full day in Vermont.
9:00 AM [Calvin
Coolidge Homestead]
We board the coach
and begin our journey eastward to the homestead of Calvin Coolidge,
considered the best preserved presidential birthplace in the nation.
1.5—2 hours.

11:00 AM [Billings Farm and Museum]
We are travelling further east to
visit Billings Farm and Museum, just outside of Woodstock Village.
1:30 PM [Quechee
Gorge]
We head over to Vermont’s “Little
Grand Canyon” formed a little over 13,000 years ago, during the last
ice age. Beautiful vistas, a little
walk or hike overlooking the
falls. Then wander over to the Quechee Gorge Village, a real Vermont
Sampler. Non stop Cabot Cheese samples, hand made crafts, homemade
fudge, watch the blacksmith at his forge, visit the Vermont Toy and
Train Museum and the Vermont Antique Mall.
4:00 PM
[Killington Gondola Ride]
We arrive at the Base Station of
Killington’s K-1 Gondola, for a scenic Gondola ride to Killington
Peak. The views are stunning all summer long. On a clear day you can
see 5 states and Canada!
5:30 PM Return to the Cascades Lodge, our home
for today.
6:30 PM Dinner
There are many other next door activities if you do not think you can ride the gondola.
